Adyct
Online marketplace and IoT device enabling retail stores to cross-promote via shared ad screens.
Product DesignMarket ResearchFigma
What it does
Adyct was a retail advertising platform consisting of an online marketplace and a physical device. It allowed retail stores to display cross-promotional advertisements on each other's screens, driving foot traffic between neighboring businesses.
Why I built it
As part of the UofT Entrepreneurship Hatchery, my team identified that small retail stores had no affordable way to reach customers in adjacent stores. Adyct was a low-cost, mutually beneficial solution.
Technical challenges
- Validated market demand through field research with 60+ stores in downtown Toronto
- Iterated on the business model with guidance from investors and mentors in the UofT Hatchery program
- Designed the marketplace UX and the physical device form factor as a co-founder team of four
